What does the GLTF to 3MF conversion preserve?

Materials, UV maps, vertex normals, and scene hierarchy are preserved wherever the 3MF format supports them. STL is the exception — it is a geometry-only format by design and discards materials and UVs. GLB and GLTF preserve embedded textures inside the file; OBJ produces an accompanying MTL material descriptor; SKP groups components logically with materials applied; BLEND preserves the full Blender scene graph with modifiers.

How does converting GLTF to 3MF work?

In order to successfully convert a GLTF formatted file to the 3MF format, our converter tools will perform several initial checks to ensure the file provided is indeed a GLTF file.
